Aquatic Physical Therapy

Background

For centuries, healers have used the therapeutic properties of water to restore health and prevent disease. Now this ancient healing concept has been united with modern-day medical science to provide one of the most effective therapy treatments available.

At the Peter B. Lewis Aquatic & Therapy Center, aquatic physical therapy is provided by a licensed physical therapist in a warm water pool. Even after surgery or an injury, when pain is increased and bearing weight on the injured area is limited, the pull of gravity on the body is reduced in water, so movement is more comfortable and can begin sooner than on land. The result is that you can begin moving sooner and recover faster.
