The Aquatic Physical Therapy Visit

Referrals

You must have a physician’s referral for therapy. If required by your insurer, please obtain pre-certification before scheduling your initial appointment.

For your convenience, there is a prescription form available on this site.

Once you have a referral or authorization, you can schedule an appointment by calling 216.595.7345.

We will provide transportation free of charge within our service area.

To-Dos

  • Bring a swim suit and water shoes or other appropriate aquatic attire.
  • Wear or bring dry clothing.
  • Leave valuables at home.
  • Wash off any body lotion before getting into the pool.
  • Inform your therapist of any unique issues, such as heart problems, fear of the water, or any other health condition you may have.
  • Be positive – you WILL feel better!

An Aquatic Therapy Session

  • Your initial visit will include a physical therapy evaluation.

  • Reassessments occur on an ongoing basis to ensure achievement of your goals.
  • A visit can be as short at 30 minutes or as long as one hour.
  • Your treatment plan may also include land-based therapy.
  • When your therapy is complete, you will receive a discharge plan so that you can continue with a fitness and wellness program.
